Rather expected game when 6th ranked Espoo Team (7-11) was defeated at home by third ranked Peli-Karhut (13-5) 83-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Peli-Karhut. Espoo Team was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Peli-Karhut forced 19 Espoo Team turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Espoo Team's players. American forward Megan Mullings (185-92, college: Alaska-Anch.) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Daisha Simmons (178-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Kamilah Jackson (181-92, college: Hawaii) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and international swingman Lotta Aaltonen (180-85, college: Coker) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Peli-Karhut have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-5 record having six points less than leader Catz. Espoo Team at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Peli-Karhut will face HyPo (#4) in Hyvinkaa in the next round. Espoo Team will play at home against Forssan Alku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
