Regular Season Round 15: Arkadikos - Iraklis 83-85

Thirteenth-ranked Arkadikos (3-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Iraklis (12-3) in Arkadia on Saturday. The visitors from Thessaloniki managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Iraklis looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (205-83) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was Swedish guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four Arkadikos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Iraklis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Peristeri GS, which they share with Holargos. Arkadikos at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Doukas. Iraklis is looking forward to face Ermis Agias (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Arkadikos will play against Marousi (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
