Regular Season Round 15: Arras - COB Calais 51-59

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked COB Calais (9-6) defeated on the road 10th ranked Arras (4-11) 59-51 on Saturday. COB Calais forced 23 Arras turnovers. Strangely Arras outrebounded COB Calais 43-27 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Chandra Harris (185-89, college: Georgia St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Anne-Sophie Pagnier (180-87) helped adding 16 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The best for the losing side was Mali center Astan Dabo (203-92) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Claire Stievenard (184-93) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. COB Calais moved-up to fifth place. Arras lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Avenir. COB Calais will meet at home league's leader Bretagne Basket in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arras will play against Reims (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
