We should mention about the upset which took place in Le Havre, where higher ranked Saint Chamond (10-6) lost to sixteenth ranked STB Le Havre (4-11) in a road game 67-74. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 24-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (204-88) did not help to save the game for Saint Chamond.
