Bottom-ranked Niigata R. (0-21) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 21th consecutive match to third ranked Denso Iris (16-5) 76-54. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Denso Iris outrebounded Niigata R. 45-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Power forward Monica Okoye (181-99) nailed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international center Sakura Akaho (182-96) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Megumi Yamasawa (162-96) came up with 15 points and Hatanaka Miho (177-85) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Niigata R. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Denso Iris. They maintain third place with 16-5 record having four points less than leader JX-Eneos S. Niigata R. lost their twenty first game in a row. They still close the standings. Denso Iris will again play against bottom-ranked Niigata R. (#12) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Niigata R. will have a break next round.
