Very expected game when 17th ranked Joventut (4-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked FC Barcelona (12-6) 91-79 on Sunday. The game without a history. FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. FC Barcelona outrebounded Joventut 34-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for FC Barcelona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Joventut was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Pau Ribas (195-87) who scored 14 points and 9 assists. Hungarian Adam Hanga (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists and American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona moved-up to second place, which they share with Valencia. Joventut lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. FC Barcelona will face Baskonia (#5) in Vitoria in the next round. Joventut will play at home against Movil Estudiantes (#13) and hope to win that game.
