Very predictable result when fourth ranked Piombino (13-6) rolled over at home 15th ranked Moncalieri (3-16) 82-63 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Piombino made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Edoardo Fontana (193-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Alessandro Procacci (182-94) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Piombino players scored in double figures. Power forward Fabio Delvecchio (194-94) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and swingman GianMarco Ianuale (200-96) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Moncalieri. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piombino maintains fourth place in B with 13-6 record. Loser Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Piombino will face Valsesia (#6) on the road in the next round. Moncalieri will play against LTC Sangiorg.
