Very important is a road loss of first ranked Novipiu Casale (14-4) against seventh ranked Viola RC (10-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Novipiu Casale was defeated by Viola RC in a tough game in Reggio Calabria 55-63. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Agustin Fabi (199-91) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Viola RC's coach Marco Calvani used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Giovanni Tomassini (188-88) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Viola RC maintains seventh position in A2 with 10-8 record. Loser Novipiu Casale still keeps top place with four games lost. Viola RC will meet NPC Rieti (#11) on the road in the next round. Novipiu Casale will play against Remer Treviglio (#14) and hope to secure a win.
