Regular Season Round 18: Gran Canaria - Zaragoza 90-70

Date: January 28, 2018
No shocking result in a game in Las Palmas where ninth ranked Gran Canaria (10-8) smashed 16th ranked Zaragoza (5-13) 90-70 on Sunday. Gran Canaria forced 19 Zaragoza turnovers. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Nicolas Brussino (202-93) who scored 16 points. American DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) who recorded 16 points and Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Gran Canaria and four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UCAM Murcia and Iberostar Tener. Zaragoza lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Gran Canaria will face Gipuzkoa (#12) in San Sebastian in the next round where they are favorite. Zaragoza will play at home against Blusens Monbus (#11) and hope to win that game.
