Twelfth-ranked Neufchateau (5-11) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Soba (9-7) in Antwerpen on Sunday. Soba managed to secure only three-point victory 81-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Soba made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Soba outrebounded Neufchateau 36-18 including 26 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Soba made 30 blocks. Center Leroy Anthonis (206-90) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Dutch center Kenneth van-Kempen (207-87, college: Ohio, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Soba players scored in double figures. Soba's coach Eddy Faus allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Arnaud Piette (206-86) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Alexis Pierre (178-92) added 18 points and 5 blocks respectively for lost side. Soba have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Spirou B. Newly promoted Neufchateau keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Soba will face higher ranked Waregem (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neufchateau will play against Ninane (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
