Regular Season Round 22: Shimane SM - Osaka Evessa 71-84

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Shimane Magic (7-25) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Osaka Evessa (10-22) 84-71 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Osaka Evessa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Takuya Hashimoto (186-94) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Jameel McKay (206-92, college: Iowa St.) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka Evessa maintains fourth position with 10-22 record. Shimane Magic lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth place with 25 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round. Shimane Magic will play at home against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
