Sixth-ranked Yokohama BC (8-24) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Diamond Dolphins (14-18). The visitors from Nagoya managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected easier game. Diamond Dolphins brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) notched 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) supported him with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) did not help to save the game for Yokohama BC. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) added 17 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to third place, which they share with San-en. Yokohama BC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. Diamond Dolphins' next round opponent will be San-en NeoPhoenix (#4) in Hamamatsu. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
