Regular Season Round 22: Toyota Alvark - Shiga L-Stars 88-81

No shocking result in a game in Tokyo where first ranked Toyota Alvark (26-6) defeated 3rd ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-21) 88-81 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Shiga L-Stars were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds and American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-6 record. Shiga L-Stars lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the third place with 21 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round where they are favorite. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against the league's second-placed Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
