Very important is a road loss of third ranked Yamagata (15-17) against fourth ranked Cyberdyne IR (15-16) on Sunday night. Visiting Yamagata was defeated by Cyberdyne IR in a tough game in Tsukuba 66-73. American players dominated the game. Power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) accounted for 9 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Yamagata in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cyberdyne IR maintains fourth place with 15-16 record, which they share with Kagawa FA. Loser Yamagata keeps the third position with 17 games lost. Cyberdyne IR will meet at home higher ranked Kanazawa Sam. (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamagata will play against the league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
