Regular Season Round 16: MuKi - Bisons Loimaa 81-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of MuKi (15-2) in Helsinki on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Loimaan Korikonkarit (15-1) 97-81. It was a key game for the top position in Division. The game was mostly controlled by Loimaan Korikonkarit. MuKi managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Loimaan Korikonkarit made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Loimaan Korikonkarit had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Caldwell (203, college: William Penn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and guard Tommi Rasi (184-98) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Caldwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Loimaan Korikonkarit players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Markus Rautasalo (180-0) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Tuomas Oksa (188-0) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. MuKi's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Loimaan Korikonkarit keeps a position of Division leader. MuKi at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit are looking forward to face JyWe (#5) in Jyvaskyla in the next round. MuKi will have a break next round.
