Regular Season Round 21: Valle de Egues - Valladolid Univ. 71-82

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Valle de Egues (5-13) lost to eighth ranked Valladolid Univ. (9-9) in Olaz 71-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valladolid Univ.. Valle de Egues was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Pedro Gonzalez (195-89) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Javier Martinez (187-97) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Nicolas Justicia added 11 points in the effort for Valle de Egues. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valladolid Univ. maintains eighth place in Group A-A with 9-9 record. Valle de Egues lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Valladolid Univ. will face Zarautz (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valle de Egues will play against the league's second-placed Zornotza where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
