Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Ponferrada CDP (10-8) outplayed at home 15th ranked Culleredo (5-13) 98-67 on Sunday. The game without a history. Ponferrada CDP led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ponferrada CDP outrebounded Culleredo 45-26 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Culleredo's players. It was a good game for Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. DR Congolese center Gullit Mukendi (203-96) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Swingman Eduardo Lada (187-98) answered with 17 points and center Mario Cabanas (207-85) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Culleredo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ponferrada CDP maintains fourth place in Group A-B with 10-8 record, which they share with Leon. Culleredo lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Ponferrada CDP will face Innova Chef (#7) in Zamora in the next round. Culleredo will play at home against Obradoiro II (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
