Regular Season Round 18: Nanterre - Le Mans 77-80

A very close game took place in Nanterre between Le Mans and JSF Nanterre. Third ranked Le Mans (12-6) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked JSF Nanterre (10-8). Le Mans managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Sunday evening. JSF Nanterre was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-22 charge of Le Mans, which allowed them to win the game. Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Hugo Invernizzi (198-93, agency: BeoBasket) scored 12 points. JSF Nanterre's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Le Mans moved-up to second place, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser JSF Nanterre dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with ASVEL. Le Mans will meet at home league's leader Monaco in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JSF Nanterre will play against Chalon/Saor (#18) and hope to secure a win.
