Regular Season Round 19: Libertas - Omnia Basket 72-86

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Libertas (0-19) lost to seventh ranked Omnia Basket (10-9) in Livorno 72-86 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Guard Alessandro Infanti (193-85, agency: Two Points) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Omnia Basket's coach Massimiliano Baldiraghi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Mattia Soloperto (208-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and the former international center Roberto Chiacig (210-74, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Libertas. Four Libertas players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Omnia Basket maintains seventh place in B with 10-9 record, which they share with Forli Tigers. Libertas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 19 games lost. Omnia Basket will face San Miniato (#9) on the road in the next round. Libertas will play against the league's leader Omegna (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
