Regular Season Round 16: Tokyo Big Blue - Kagoshima 69-99

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Kagoshima (10-10) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (1-19) 99-69 on Sunday. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Big Blue's 44. They outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 53-33 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kagoshima looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Tokyo Big Blue's players. Quite impressive performance for American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Tokyo Big Blue. Four Tokyo Big Blue players scored in double figures. Tokyo Big Blue's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Kagoshima maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. Tokyo Big Blue lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Kagoshima will face higher ranked Toyoda Gosei (#4) in Aichi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
