We should mention about the upset which took place in Sassari, where higher ranked Fiat TO (10-7) lost to ninth ranked Banco di Srd (9-8) in a road game 80-92 on Sunday. Banco di Srd shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Croatian center Darko Planinic (211-90) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Banco di Srd's coach Federico Pasquini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) responded with 12 points and 9 assists and American-Slovakian guard Andre Jones (195-90, college: Winthrop) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Banco di Srd and five Fiat TO players scored in double figures. Banco di Srd moved-up to seventh place, which they share with MIA-RO Cantu and Vanoli CR. Loser Fiat TO keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Virtus Bologna. Banco di Srd will meet Grissin Bon RE (#11) in the next round. Fiat TO will play against the league's second-placed Scandone AV (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
