Regular Season Round 19: Battipaglia - Capo d'Orlando 50-78

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Battipaglia (3-16) was outleveled at home by tenth ranked Capo d'Orlando (8-11) 78-50 on Sunday. Capo d'Orlando outrebounded Battipaglia 44-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for Jacopo Pozzi (201-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Roberto Marinello (179-91) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Guard Simon Anumba (191-96) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Mattia Norcino (185-93) added 11 points in the effort for Battipaglia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Capo d'Orlando maintains tenth place in B with 8-11 record, which they share with Rimini and Lugo. Battipaglia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Capo d'Orlando will face Sestu (#12) at home in the next round. Battipaglia will play against Valmontone and hope to win that game.
