Eredivisie top team - Groningen (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Leeuwarden (5-12) 85-61. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Leeuwarden managed to win fourth quarter 27-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leeuwarden 45-27 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Groningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard, agency: Inception Sports) nailed 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Evan Bruinsma (202-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. Groningen's coach Erik Braal felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Jeroen van der List (212-89, college: Indian Hills CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Nate Kratch (203-93, college: Santa Clara) added 10 points respectively for Leeuwarden in the defeat. Groningen have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-2 record. Leeuwarden lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
