Regular Season Round 15: Bnei Hertzeliya - Ironi Nahariya 72-69

Bottom-ranked Bnei Hasharon managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they edged seventh-ranked Ironi Nahariya in Hod Hasharon 72-69. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But Ironi Nahariya won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ron Sport) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth, agency: Alti Sport) added 18 points respectively for Ironi Nahariya in the defeat. Bnei Hasharon (4-11) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Loser Ironi Nahariya dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Hapoel Eilat. Bnei Hasharon will meet higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nahariya will play against Galil Gilboa (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
