Regular Season Round 19: Senigallia - Ortona 103-47

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Ortona (3-16) was outleveled on the road by ninth ranked Senigallia (10-9) 103-47 on Sunday. Senigallia dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Ortona's 26. Senigallia forced 19 Ortona turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ortona's players. It was a very good performance for forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Marco Giacomini (182-94) contributed with 11 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Senigallia players scored in double figures. Center Luca Malfatti (202-90) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Danilo Petrovic (203-99) added 9 points in the effort for Ortona. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Senigallia moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Forli Tigers. Loser Ortona keeps the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Senigallia will face Giulianova (#11) at home in the next round. Ortona will play against Nardo (#12) and hope to win that game.
