Regular Season Round 13: Hainaut - Flammes 74-75

The most exciting game of round 13 in the LFB took place in Saint-Amand. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Hainaut (5-8) to third ranked Flammes (9-4) 75-74 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Flammes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Brazilian center Clarissa Dos-Santos (184-88, agency: ProDep Management) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian Egle Sulciute (190-85) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Flammes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-4 record having just two points less than leader Bourges. Hainaut at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Nantes. Flammes are looking forward to face Nice (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hainaut will play against the league's second-placed Villeneuve D'Ascq and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
