Regular Season Round 16: Venezia - Ragusa 80-61

An interesting game for Venezia (12-4) which hosted in Venezia one of their biggest challengers Ragusa (10-6). Second ranked Venezia had an easy win 80-61. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ragusa. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (190-86, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. American-Romanian power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Venezia players scored in double figures. American forward Dearica Hamby (190-93, college: Wake Forest, agency: LBM Management) replied with 18 points and her fellow American import forward Jessica Kuster (188-92, college: Rice) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ragusa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezia have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader Familia Schio. Ragusa at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Venezia are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Battipaglia (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ragusa will play against the league's leader Familia Schio (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
