Regular Season Round 19: Salerno - Cassino 74-75

A very interesting game took place in Salerno. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Salerno (14-5) to fifth ranked Cassino (14-5) 75-74 in the fight for the third place. Strangely Salerno outrebounded Cassino 40-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (196-80, agency: Players Group) fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Maurizio Del-Testa (187-89) chipped in 16 points. Four Cassino players scored in double figures. Point guard Gennaro Sorrentino (190-85) produced 23 points and power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cassino moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Crema. Cassino's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Palestrina in Roma and it will be for sure the game of the week. Salerno will play at home against Roma S.Azzurra and hope to win that game.
