There was an upset in Castellanza where higher ranked Legnano (10-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Cagliari Academy (9-9) 77-68 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-81) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cagliari Academy players scored in double figures. Cagliari Academy's coach Riccardo Paolini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matteo Martini (195-92, agency: Players Group) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Rei Pullazi (203-93) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Cagliari Academy moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Legnano keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Cagliari Academy will face higher ranked Latina Basket (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Legnano will play against the league's second-placed Eurotrend Biella where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
