We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (4-15) lost on the road to Maccabi Raanana (9-10) 75-70 on Monday. American forward Ariel Edwards (190-92, college: Penn St., agency: ProDep Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import power forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) accounted for 17 points and 13 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) came up with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Sydney Colson (172-89, college: Texas A&M, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists respectively for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Raanana will meet at home Bnot Hertzeliya (#8) in the next round. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against B.Yehuda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
