The game between seventh ranked Maccabi Rishon (7-8) and 10th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (5-10) in Rishon Le-Zion on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Maccabi Rishon beat guests from Nes Ziyona 84-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Rishon. Ironi Nes-Ziona was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Rishon forced 19 Ironi Nes-Ziona turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. American swingman Jaron Johnson (198-92, college: Louisiana Tech) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: 3Eye) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi Rishon maintains seventh place with 7-8 record. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Maccabi Rishon will face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play at home against Maccabi Ashdod (#5) and hope to win that game.
