Regular Season Round 14: Panathinaikos - Olympiacos 68-61

The game between Top Four teams took place in Athens. Top-ranked host Panathinaikos (14-0) defeated second-ranked Olympiacos (10-4) 68-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olympiacos. It looked good early as Olympiacos took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Panathinaikos took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. Olympiacos was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Guinea-Bissau KC Rivers (196-87, college: Clemson) notched 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American James Gist (206-86) supported him with 6 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds by the former international Georgios Printezis (204-85, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Olympiacos. The former international Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Olympiacos at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Panathinaikos will play against PAOK (#5) in Thessaloniki in the next round. Olympiacos will play at home against Kymis and hopes to get back on the winning track.
