Regular Season Round 16: Noorteliiga - Kalev/Cramo 44-112

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#1) and Noorteliiga (#8). Noorteliiga was smashed at home by 68 points 44-112 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Kalev/Cramo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Noorteliiga to just 6 points in second quarter. Kalev/Cramo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Noorteliiga's 20. Kalev/Cramo forced 27 Noorteliiga turnovers and outrebounded them 35-16 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kalev/Cramo shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 62.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Noorteliiga's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian-Bulgarian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists and Dutch center Thomas vanderMars (208-90, college: Portland) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Erki Kuhi (199-0) responded with 7 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Ron-Arnar Pehka (185-98) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kalev/Cramo (18-0) have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 18 victories in a row. Noorteliiga at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost.
