Second Stage Round 4: Celje - Tresnjevka 86-52

WABA top team - Slovenian Celje (8-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (3-7) 86-52. Celje dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tresnjevka's 28. Celje forced 29 Tresnjevka turnovers and outrebounded them 46-21 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Larisa Ocvirk (187-97) fired 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian Iva Slonjsak (183-97) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Celje players scored in double figures. Celje's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Nika Muhl (177-1) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Andjela Katavic (177-99) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending Slovenian champion maintains first position with 8-2 record. Tresnjevka lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. Celje's next round opponent will be Beroe (#7) in Stara Zagora where they are favorite. Tresnjevka will play on the road against Partizan in Beograd and hope to win that game.
