Regular Season Round 18: Zwolle - Weert 80-59

Date: February 1, 2018
Fourth ranked Zwolle (10-6) crushed at home 9th ranked Weert (3-13) by 21 points 80-59, which is the biggest margin this round on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Zwolle. Weert managed to win third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Weert's 26. Zwolle forced 19 Weert turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Noah Dahlman (201-89, college: Wofford) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jordan Gregory (188-92, college: Montana) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Sam Van-Dijk (194-96) with 16 points and forward Wietze Nossek (201-98) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zwolle maintains fourth position with 10-6 record. Weert lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Den Helder. Zwolle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Weert will play on the road against Leiden (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
