Rather expected game when 5th ranked Tokyo Excel. (11-11) was defeated at home by third ranked Saitama Broncos (16-6) 74-68 on Friday. Tokyo Excel. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-90, college: Memphis) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and point guard Masaya Ueda (177-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. American Justin Herold (203-91, college: Sonoma St.) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tokyo Excel. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Saitama Broncos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Otsuka A. Tokyo Excel. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Saitama Broncos will face Kagoshima (#6) in Renova in the next round.
