No shocking result in a game when second ranked Grodno-93 (25-2) smashed on the road 9th ranked Brest (5-20) 123-68 on Friday. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Grodno-93 forced 24 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 53-23 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Grodno-93 looked well-organized offensively handing out 43 assists comparing to just 26 passes made by Brest's players. Swingman Dzmitry Kuratnik (192-97) stepped up and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Ukrainian point guard Maksym Miroshnychenko (180-96) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Forward Konstantin Solyshko (196-96) responded with 26 points and 4 steals and guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Grodno-93. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Loser Brest keeps the ninth place with 20 games lost. Grodno-93 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brest will play again against the league's second-placed Grodno-93 (#2) and hope to secure a win.
