Korisliiga top team - Salon Vilpas (23-6) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (5-21) 127-75. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.9 percent from the field and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Salon Vilpas shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lapuan Korikobrat's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Jaylon Brown (183-94, college: Evansville) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican-American forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Inception Sports) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) added 20 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas maintains first position with 23-6 record. Loser Lapuan Korikobrat stay dead last with 21 lost games. Salon Vilpas will meet UU-Korihait (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against KTP-Basket and hope to secure a win.
