Regular Season Round 30: KTP Basket - BC Nokia 88-86

The most exciting game of round 30 in the Korisliiga took place in Kotka. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked BC Nokia (14-13) to eighth ranked KTP-Basket (12-15) 88-86 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BC Nokia. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) scored 25 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 assists and Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket maintains eighth position with 12-15 record. BC Nokia at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. KTP-Basket are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) on the road in the next round. BC Nokia will play against the league's second-placed Helsinki Seagulls (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
