No shocking result in a game in Bertrange where T71 (11-8) defeated Sparta (9-10) 91-74 on Friday. They outrebounded Sparta 42-31 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. T71 shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sparta's players. American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) fired 27 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard Troy Huff (196-92, college: N.Dakota) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four T71 and five Sparta players scored in double figures. T71 will face Musel Pikes (#5) in Stadrbredimus in the next round. Sparta will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and hope to win that game.
