There was an upset when higher ranked Provence Basket (12-5) lost to fourteenth ranked Aix-Maurienne (6-11) in Aix-les-Bains 62-73 on Friday. Aix-Maurienne looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Point guard Hugo Suhard (184-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists. American power forward Curtis Kelly (208-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) answered with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Xavier Gaillou (192-89) added 16 points in the effort for Provence Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Nantes and Vichy Clermont. Loser Provence Basket dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
