There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked JA Vichy (6-11) beat at home higher ranked Denain Voltaire (8-9) 82-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by JA Vichy. Denain Voltaire was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JA Vichy dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Denain Voltaire's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) contributed with 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St., agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 14 points and power forward Ywen Smock (204-96, agency: Octagon Europe) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Denain Voltaire. Denain Voltaire's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. JA Vichy moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Nantes and Aix-Maurienne. Loser Denain Voltaire keeps the ninth position with nine games lost.
