There was no surprise when 4th ranked Leon (10-9) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Marin (19-0) 84-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 51-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Marin outrebounded Leon 36-19 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Marin players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Colby Taylor (198-94, college: Central, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and Marcos Fernandez scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Leon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marin have an impressive 19-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-B with 19-0 record.
