Regular Season Round 21: Pogon RS - Bielsko-Biala 93-89

Rather predictable result in Ruda Slaska where seventh ranked Pogon RS (11-10) beat 10th ranked Bielsko-Biala (8-13) 93-89 on Saturday. Pogon RS made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Pogon RS outrebounded Bielsko-Biala 44-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Aleksander Maslanka (195-91) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Dawid Sega (192-95) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Pogon RS's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Robert Kozaczka (199-81) who recorded 30 points and guard Grzegorz Szybowicz (187-86) added 14 points and 12 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pogon RS. They moved-up to sixth place in Group C. Newly promoted Bielsko-Biala dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Pogon RS will face league's leader AZS AGH Krk. in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bielsko-Biala will play at home against the league's second-placed AZS AWF Mick. (#2) and hope to win that game.
