A1 top team - Olympiacos (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Esperides (6-8) in Pireus 100-37. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Esperides to just 3 points in first quarter and to 10 points in first half. Olympiacos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Esperides' 18. Olympiacos forced 27 Esperides turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Esperides' players. The former international forward Styliani Kaltsidou (188-83, agency: ProDep Management) notched 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) supported her with 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. Olympiacos' coach Eleni Kapogianni felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by American-Mexican forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-93, college: Charleston) did not help to save the game for Esperides. Forward Christina Litsi (180-96) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Olympiacos have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Esperides lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Olympiacos will play against Olympiacos Volou (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Esperides will play against Athinaikos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
