There was a surprise result when fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (18-16) beat leader Toyota Alvark (27-7) in Saporro 73-67 on Saturday. Hokkaido L. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hokkaido L. made 7 blocks. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) added 9 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Toyota Alvark.
