Regular Season Round 22: Paterna - Begastri 94-64

Very expected game when 12th ranked Begastri (1-14) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Paterna (9-6) 94-64 on Saturday. Paterna outrebounded Begastri 41-25 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Toms Einbergs (200-96) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Juan-Luis Navarro (195-91) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Paterna players scored in double figures. Paterna's coach Oscar Retortillo felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Rafael Jorda responded with 23 points and forward Manuel Sanchez (198-95) scored 15 points. Paterna maintains fifth position in Group E with 9-6 record, which they share with Benidorm. Newly promoted Begastri keeps the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Paterna will face UAF Lucentum (#11) in Alicante in the next round where they are favorite. Begastri will play at home against Aldaia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
