Regular Season Round 23: Shiga L-Stars - Chiba Jets 78-89

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Chiba Jets' (24-10) road victory over 3rd placed Shiga L-Stars (11-23) 89-78 on Saturday. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Takuma Sato (194-95) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 24-10 record having just three points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Shiga L-Stars lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 23 games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's second-placed Toyama Grouses on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and hope to win that game.
