Regular Season Round 17: KFUM Uppsala - Mark 73-68

Bottom-ranked KFUM Uppsala managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted KFUM Uppsala won against eighth-ranked Mark 73-68. Strangely Mark outrebounded KFUM Uppsala 134-115 including 51 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. KFUM Uppsala brought some defensive toughness making 85 blocks. Mark was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Heather Butler (165-90, college: Tenn-Martin) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Agnes Nordstrom (180-88) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four KFUM Uppsala players scored in double figures. American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) answered with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Alexis Hyder (180-94, college: LSU) added 14 points and 18 rebounds in the effort for Mark. Newly promoted KFUM Uppsala maintains tenth place with 3-13 record. Mark lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. KFUM Uppsala will play against higher ranked IK Eos (#6) in Lund in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mark will play at home against Telge and hopes to get back on the winning track.
