There was a minor upset in La Spezia where 6th ranked Spezzina (9-8) was defeated by eighth ranked Faenza (9-8) 73-60 on Saturday. Faenza outrebounded Spezzina 41-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Lucia Morsiani (186-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Elisabetta Linguaglossa (185-87) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Elisa Templari (175-89, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points respectively. Faenza moved-up to seventh place in A2. Faenza will face Umbertide (#11) at home in the next round.
